Are you in a dental emergency? The first thing you’ll want to do is to call Red Mountain Family Dental in Mesa, AZ at 480-641-4165. If you’ve already done that and are awaiting treatment, take a look below at the scenario below that best fits the emergency and follow the directions:

Toothache

Mix a teaspoon of salt with tap water for the afflicted person to gargle. A cold compress to the cheek and an anti-inflammatory medicine like ibuprofen, naproxen or aspirin will also help ease the pain.

Chipped Teeth

In order to remove any teeth fragments, have the injured person rinse his or her mouth with warm water into a bowl. You’ll want to save any larger pieces of tooth for your dentist appointment with Dr. Scott Josephson. Put them in a glass of cold milk or water to preserve them. A cold compress to the cheek will reduce any potential swelling.

Missing Teeth

Rinse with cold water and hold the tooth in place with a clean tissue or towel. If for whatever reason you can’t do that, put it in a glass of cold water instead. When you visit Red Mountain Family Dental, you’ll want to take the tooth with you.

Fractured Jaw

If you’ve already called Red Mountain Family Dental you may already have learned that this emergency is probably best treated through an oral surgeon. In the meantime, rinse the mouth to remove any blood and keep the jaw as still as possible.

Red Mountain Family Dental recognizes the urgency of these emergencies, and as such we can offer same day treatment. Call us at 480-641-4165 and we will address your needs as soon as possible.
